We believe that performance is the logical result of combining top quality People and Process.
Performance sustainability is the pre-eminent attribute of a good manager. Absolute returns necessarily imply the absence of correlation with long-only benchmarks such as stock market indices, nor are they a substitute for fixed income investments.
Good managers are always aware of where performance is coming from. Therefore performance attribution analysis is critical. We pay particular attention to risk return and time window analysis. We also carefully analyse draw downs and time to recovery, taking into account the market cycles in which they occurred, and examine volatility in relation to the asset class traded.
